Snowball Haul 2009
The plan was simple. We wanted to combine a Christmas holiday sale with a ride for our "hardcore riding friends" on December 12th. I mean, how many people are going to come out to go for a ride in the middle of December?
There were great rewards for those who would come out and brave the temperatures including a Scorpion helmet and gloves , Joe Rocket gloves, Fly pants and boots, a battery tester/charger, Icon boots, riding overpants, jerseys, hats.....you get the idea. And for a really lucky person, a $500 gift card to Diamond Motor Sports.
The days leading up to the event I got asked numerous times, "how many riders do you think will come?". I honestly did not know but always answered 15-40. Well the weather was as good as it could get in Delaware in December with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 40s.
At 11:30 a few started rolling in. By 11:45 there were at least 50 and more coming. When we left at 12:00 there where close to 90 bikes. The groups were split between sport and cruiser with each taking a different route of about 40 miles.
Even though it was chilly, a good time was had by all. The $500 gift card was eventually drawn at 6:40pm by Bill Burnley. I am sure he will use it to add more chrome to his Raider.
We had such a good time there has already been talk of what we will do next year......
